The butterfly garden homeowner decided to respond to a Cypress Head resident's remarks in this "safe place", thanks to NO TO KANGAROOS ™, as opposed to NextDoor, where she was previously muted and banned. (Cypress Head may hereafter be referred to as CH.)
In all fairness, this resident, M.B., was an ARB member in Cypress Head several years ago. A lot seemed to change (for the worse) since that time. Furthermore, it was unclear what her relationship was to the current Board and if she was fully aware of this situation. It was safe to assume that as a former member of the ARB (and one who may have ties to this Board), her view of the Board and the current situation significantly differ from those residents on the receiving end of the ire of the leadership and ARB.
Additionally, D.F. was a former Cypress Head resident and also a former Board member.
He, therefore, offers a unique perspective on this situation.
Many Cypress Head residents know the Cancel Culture that exists on NextDoor and also the retaliation that they may face from the leadership and Board. Therefore, they opt to not come "out to defend this property and their choices." This should be patently obvious to any reader.
The homeowner whose butterfly garden faces destruction is often contacted through private email rather than NextDoor for this very reason. Residents are fearful of repercussions.
On the contrary, there are many residents who support this homeowner. Some are enduring their own hardships with this same HOA and ARB now; others are not.
As pointed out in this blog, there seems to be so much infighting now between Board members and residents. Obviously, this Board FAILS to deal "specifically with these issues", especially in the presence of what appears to be a kangaroo court (the ARB) and an absence of any independent grievance committee, pre-CTEC.
It is the hope of this homeowner and others aware of this plight that a spring cleaning starts at the Clubhouse and improves Cypress Head with an all-new Board, ARB, and leadership.
Cypress Head is truly a beautiful place to live. A changing-of-the-guard is desperately needed to improve its image. Perhaps M.B. can now rejoin the ARB and start such improvements?
The homeowner actually has a petition signed by neighbors that live around this home requesting that the HOA, Board, and ARB leave the children's butterfly garden intact. When this was communicated to B.C., the president of Cypress Head, at an ARB meeting, he mocked the homeowner and responded, "I don't care how many people sign your petition." That response seemed a bit... tyrannical. Then again, the response came from the same person who closed a quorum (at a Cypress Head Board meeting) on the homeowner and told her to "get back to your children".
Let us reiterate a difficult situation. A Cypress Head resident is the victim of bullying. She is muted and silenced on NextDoor. She is, at times, banned from Cypress Head NextDoor. She is now faced with the destruction of her children's butterfly garden and thousands of dollars in fines. How else can anyone learn of the plight of her children's butterfly garden if others OUTSIDE of Cypress Head do not EDUCATE the masses? No other family in or out of Cypress Head deserves to endure such heartache over such trivialities. Selective enforcement, retaliation, and bullying behaviors need to stop now in this community. The president, vice president, and the Board member (who sent the nasty texts to one Cypress Head resident and to another PTE (adjacent community) resident) NOW all need to step down over the "Cancel Culture Scandal". All other Board members should be asked to resign, especially those who have held unto their seats for more than two years. (Enough is enough. Thank you all for your time.)
New ARB and Board members are now desperately needed to represent the changing demographics that are now defining Cypress Head if it is to remain a premier community.
