It is time to talk about a Cancel Culture Scandal that appears to have erupted in a tony community in Parkland.
Cypress Head residents and all Americans enjoy the freedoms and liberties afforded by the US Constitution. Cypress Head is a beautiful community. The First Amendment right, however, appears to be under threat in Cypress Head since several Cypress Head residents have found themselves muted, silenced, banned, and even retaliated against for daring to address neighborhood concerns associated with the environment, safety, and/ or security issues within Cypress Head.
This is unacceptable and no neighbor should fear addressing concerns that can impact other residents within any community.
At a March 9, 2021 ARB meeting, B.C., the president of Cypress Head HOA, seemed to lambaste a homeowner for her posts on Cypress Head NextDoor where she requested support for her children's butterfly garden from neighbors within Cypress Head. Once she was silenced on Cypress Head NextDoor, others outside of Cypress Head stepped up to the plate and posted their concerns on NextDoor (to 43 other communities). These posts were quickly removed and/ or buried in the feed. The homeowner was also banned from NextDoor and placed on notice because she was a target of a seemingly irate Cypress Head Board member who sent what appeared to be inflammatory and accusatory texts to the homeowner and another resident of PTE, a nearby community in Parkland, over a butterfly garden that faces destruction in Cypress Head.
Ironically, this Cypress Head homeowner appeared to be the victim of "attack, insult, shame, bully..."
Not one member of the Cypress Head HOA and Campbell Property Management Company was able to explain why there was now a screen shot image publicly circulating throughout Parkland and Boca Raton that showed that a Cypress Head Board member (who is also Cypress Head Lead, see image below) was one and the same who texted her and also drummed up support among other moderators through inventing libelous accusations to ban, mute, and delete her posts and ban her on NextDoor.
The Cypress Head Board Member (and Cypress Head Lead), G.L., then tried to delete his texts to the homeowner only they were already backed up on a Cloud. She turned "disappearing messages" mode off.
What this, sadly, shows is that the Cypress Head leadership and management now seem to be pitting Board members against residents and residents against residents.
This is not the kind of behavior and respect toward fellow residents that one expects in a premier community, such as Cypress Head.
Still further, the Cypress Head president and management company were unable to explain why a homeowner had her NextDoor posts addressed to a councilman, an elected official, in Parkland, deleted from NextDoor Cypress Head. Was this action legal?
Furthermore, the Cypress Head president was unable to explain why another Cypress Head homeowner had his NextDoor post in Cypress Head quickly deleted during the same week when he addressed concerns about an 8-year-old golf cart driver shuttling 4 and 5-year old children on the streets of Cypress Head. This other Cypress Head homeowner apparently implied that he felt that there were more important traffic safety issues to consider in Cypress Head than for the leadership to hyperfocus on the destruction of a children's butterfly garden.
According to NextDoor, "Leads are neighbors who are especially dedicated to their neighborhood and are committed to helping to cultivate a strong and healthy community on Nextdoor. They are neighbors like other members, except they have been granted additional capabilities to help their neighborhood run more smoothly." Members (of the HOA and/ or their associates and/ friends) may report a post and then start a vote to remove it.
Friends, butterfly garden warriors, no resident in any HOA community should live in fear of retaliation and silencing, especially when these issues relate to BUTTERFLIES AND BUTTERFLY GARDENS. Importantly, every resident deserves to know about those safety issues that relate to their communities.

BROWARD COUNTY VICE MAYOR MICHAEL UDINE (mudine@broward.org)
CYPRESSHEAD 954-753-7900
CAMPBELL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT 954-427-8770
Demand the IMMEDIATE resignation of the president, vice president, and all Board
and ARB members of Cypress Head and the dismissal of Campbell Property Management
for allowing this CANCEL CULTURE to flourish in Cypress Head.
This is very troubling because the deleting of such posts can potentially put MANY others at risk, especially as these matters may relate to public safety issues.
The destruction of this butterfly habitat cannot be allowed to happen in Cypress Head as it sets a negative precedent for other HOA communities to follow. Thank you.
